Dos and don’ts while preparing for political science homework.

Homework is one thing all students fear. Now a days students are given homework in almost all subjects to the students.

Homework can also be in the form of assignments or power point presentations or even oral assignments where students are supposed to prepare orally for essays articles, dramas etc.

In this article we will discuss dos and don’t while preparing for political science homework.

1. In class attention

Students need to be very attentive during the lectures and classes, in order to retain the information. Many a times students engage themselves in nagging and nuisance, which can act as a hurdle in their retention and understanding of the subject or topic. Students should avoid doing other work during the lectures, many students who have a lot of pending work, tends to finish their other subject homework in some other classes, this not only effect learning and understanding of one subject but also other subjects are affected in this practise.

2. Classwork

Student should acquire a habit of writing notes during the class lectures.

Writing notes is a habit that comes in handy in a long run also. Students should always keep a notebook and a pen handy. It is recommended that students should use colourful pens while taking notes in order to write headings and separate important points to the non-important ones.

Students should also make notes while they are studying for a particular subject or a particular topic. Students should always take notes by making points and highlighting the important ones.

Students should avoid re writing, as notes are better when they are raw as it gives proper understanding of the topic being learned.

Students can also prefer to write summary of the topics being taught. Summary writing is basically writing a snippet of the topic. it’s basically explains the conclusion of the topic.

Summary should be such that once the student reads the summary, he or she should get the whole idea of the topic without having to read through the entire content.

3. Regularity

Most students are lazy due to which they keep on postponing the homework, which later on adds up to be a huge pile of homework that needs to be done.

Students should regularly finish their homework in order to avoid over load of work which then they are supposed to submit in a short period of time.

Avoid or procrastinating homework only leads to more stress, tension and mental pressure as well as physical work.

Students can also try to finish their homework while in school itself.

There, come many opportunities where by students gets free period or spare time during the school or college hours, due to absence of teacher or any other reasons.

Students should take an advantage of this spare time and should try to finish as much homework as they can in this spare time.

Doing this has two advantages, one it saves a lot of time of the students as they do not have to do the homework at home they can use that time in studying or even at playing or attending sport activities.

Another advantage is they do not have to worry about the homework once they go back home they can relax and simply sleep.

Also the parents of the students will be proud that their child is staying up to date and if not together ahead of the class in finishing of the homework.

4. Copying

The big don’t that students needs to keep in their minds is to not copy homework from their friends or class mates.

Many a times students do not finish their homework on time and when they are needed to submit the work, they simply copy paste it from their classmates or friends work.

We recommend students to not copy homework as this hinders their understanding and retention of the topics or the subject. Another reason and the important one is, to avoid plagiarism.

Although now a days there are many software to check plagiarism online, it does not mean that if students submit offline work they can copy.

Teachers have good experience of teaching and because of that they know exactly how to read through the content.

And if a student tries to copy the content from their classmate, there’s a possibility the teacher might caught that the student have cheated and hence it can result in bad impression on the teacher as well as students are at a risk of gaining maximum marks.

There’s another reason we do not recommend copying. That is, if in case the student or the classmate from which you are copying has done the work wrong or has himself or herself copied from someone else, then you stand at risk of losing all the marks.

If the content is copied too many times the chances of recognition by the teacher is even more. And if say the content is wrong or false, or poorly done than again, the student stand a chance at risk of losing all the marks.

We recommend and suggest students to do their work, and do that on time instead of relying on others, students should apt out an habit of trusting and believing only themselves when it comes to doing the academic work whether its writing essay or doing assignments.

5. Practice

Students should acquire a habit of doing regular practice.

Usually subjects like mathematics or statistics is only considered for practice.

Other subjects are preferred by the students to be read or learn on one time basis.

This might affect their learning skills and retention skills.

Students should always practice and re read or re learn whatever that is taught in class, doing so they get a clear understanding of the topic as well as they get to retain most of what is taught during the lecture, this comes in handy while doing homework or making assignments.
